FAQ

Here we have compiled a list of our most asked questions:

Q: HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO HIRE A SKIP?

A: The price will depend on the size of skip required. The price quoted includes the hire of the skip, as well as delivery and collection. It does not include any additional equipment, permits or subsequent charges that may be incurred.

Q: ARE YOU A REGISTERED WASTE CARRIER?

A: M&K Skip Hire is registered and licensed with the Environmental Agency. Registered Waste Carrier: Licence CBDU153792

Q: WHAT IS WAIT AND LOAD?

A: On occasion it may be impractical to keep a skip, whether it be due to site rules, permit issues, or space constraints.  To help you dispose of your waste efficiently, our team can deliver a skip which you may load immediately while we wait.

Q: WILL I NEED A PERMIT FOR MY SKIP?

A: A permit is required if the skip will be placed on a public highway.  If it is on private property you will not need a permit.

Q: WILL I NEED LIGHTS ON MY SKIP?

A: If your skip is to be placed on the public highway it is a legal requirement that the skip is illuminated through the hours of darkness for public safety. These will not come automatically with the skip, so please ask us what options are available to you.

Q: HOW MUCH CAN I PUT IN THE SKIP?

A: The skip must not be loaded to a level higher than the top of the container.

Q: WHAT KIND OF WASTE CAN I PUT IN A SKIP?
